    Here I go again. Planned to just start the novel only to end up finishing it in one setting. Spent a " nuit blanche" to get to the end of it. I was not looking forward to Milton retiring from his " job" but was quickly appeased to follow him applying his "skills" to good use. In this novel, Milton realizes he has reached the end of the road and wants to retire as an assassin. His body has aged, and his conscience is catching up with him. When witnessing the almost successful attempt at suicide of a desperate stranger, he decides to stay put and try to help her and her son. Meanwhile, he himself is "marked for elimination," but doesn't meet his assassin until he has finished "cleaning up."

    A easy book to keep a person up intill the wee hours of the morning. Not the fasting moving book but enough to keep a person interested. Don’t hesitate, just get it.

    I really enjoyed reading this book and think that it is destined to become a movie. I was engaged throughout every chapter and anxious to keep reading. I will read more of Dawson's books!

    Addictive, exciting, you are drawn into the story. Soon I had to keep reading into the night. And now I want to get to the next John Milton book and find out what he's doing next. Recommend The Cleaner to those who enjoy excitement and also the excellent character development.

    Did not start out like Jaws or Gorky Park where you are hooked from the first page, but it was still very, very good. Cared about the characters, a worthwhile read.
